Palmer College of Chiropractic is looking for a Clinic RT!

FUNCTION

The Clinic Radiologic Technologist (RT) is responsible for performing quality x-ray examinations, education of the chiropractic student in in x-ray positioning and patient management during radiographic examinations, general radiography and department duties.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Responsible to the assigned administrator and has a support responsibility to all other departments and college personnel as necessary.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform radiographic examinations.

  • Preparing examination rooms for patient examinations.

  • Train and assess students in patient radiographic examinations.

  • Monitoring students and patients during examinations, ensuring safety, and following procedures.

  • Daily evaluation of equipment function.

  • Performing radiology administrative tasks.

  • Disseminate radiology reports.

  • Screening phone calls, processing mail, scheduling appointments, maintaining filing systems, ordering, and maintaining office supplies, and other related duties.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local safety and health regulations, maintenance of safe laboratory environment.

  • Maintain compliance with college policies, procedures, and expectations.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Training and experience in radiologic technology.

  • Ability to perform assigned duties with time pressures and frequent interruptions.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Ability to resolve routine problems.

  • Ability to work effectively with others in an academic environment.

  • Ability to work various hours as job requires.

  • A license to practice radiography.

  • Good organizational, time management, analytical abilities, and attention to detail.

  • The ability to lift heavy weights without assistance.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a high school diploma with associate or bachelor’s degree in radiology American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

  • Requires at least one year of work-related experience.

  • Must be licensed by the Iowa Department of Health.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Perform sedentary to light work in a ventilated, lighted, and temperature-controlled office setting.

  • Radiology environment with x-ray equipment.

  • Frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, lift light objects (up to 10 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the workday
