WSP USA Materials Engineer in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

The Opportunity:

Our team is growing, and as a result we're looking for an experienced Materials Engineer to join our amazing group of professionals. As part of the Materials Engineering Team in Dartmouth, NS, you will be responsible for driving forward our ambitious plans to enhance our service offerings in the province through your work with a close-knit team of engineering specialists, professionals, and technical staff. This role requires a deep understanding of construction materials and their properties, as well as the ability to apply this knowledge to effectively solve problems and optimize project outcomes.

What you can expect to do here:

  • You'll be using your expertise to review and report technical results, write technical reports, and provide expertise and client deliverables on our projects;

  • You'll be coordinating and managing our extensive technical materials engineering and pavement teams, both in the field and laboratory

  • You'll be assisting with the coordination, management, and certification of our CCIL-certified laboratories

  • You’ll be managing relationships with clients and ensuring that their needs are understood and met, providing your guidance and expertise;

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • University degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent education or experience in engineering or engineering technology

  • 3-8 years experience working in Construction Materials QA/QC, Materials Engineering, or related field

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in all tasks

  • Licence to practice engineering, or ability to obtain licence in NS. Alternatively, current registration with TechNova.

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

  • Experience supervising and leading technical teams

  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite of products

  • Punctuality, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in teams and on your own

  • A willingness to do a variety of tasks and the ability to prioritize work according to importance and deadlines
