Associate Director Global Product Management life’s® non-infant algal oils and powders portfolio

Location: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Canada

We need a dynamic and visionary candidate who will shape and develop the portfolio, in close alignment with the Segment Leads in Dietary Supplements and Medical Nutrition. You will work in strong collaboration with our operations team and our network of production partners, both in-house and 3rd party, to develop and implement the supply strategy to grow the segment growth in a competitive and sustainable manner. You will establish the network and infrastructure necessary to keep a keen pulse on competition and customer dynamics. Your key responsibilities

• Design and execute an end-to-end portfolio strategy that enables the long-term cost competitive realization of segment growth ambitions and ensure cross-functional alignment on business ambition, portfolio and supply strategy

• Collect and consolidate competitive and customer insights as strategy input

• Steer the development of initiatives for portfolio profitability optimization, which may range from cost improvement projects to quality improvement to innovation

• Contribute to building the portfolio value proposition and strengthening product differentiation through regular benchmarking activities, in collaboration with innovation and segment/product marketing

• Act as subject matter expert, drawing on specialist functions as necessary, to provide input for segment / product marketing strategies and value proposition, as well as to support queries from regions

• As portfolio owner, manage all operational aspects of product maintenance in the product life cycle, including supporting phase-ins / outs and manage the relationships with strategic alliances and supply partners

This position is eligible for the dsm-firmenich Hybrid Working model, spending 2-3 days per week in the company office and the balance of the week in a home office.

You bring

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the lipids industry, preferably in product management, commercial/business or technical functions, required

• Familiarity with the regulatory environment, quality standards, and manufacturing and scientific principles related to lipids

• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including innovation, marketing, sales, finance and supply chain, and contribute both as a team player and team lead

• Demonstrated experience in both operational and strategic roles along with strategic thinking and business acumen

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate across multiple stakeholder levels

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or master’s degree a plus
