As an IT Technician you will report to the IT Manager at your home site and will be responsible for directly supporting the people working with the operations division, directly supporting those people who make it possible to deliver the items you buy. Working closely with the business, your colleagues and remote support teams to offer a first-class IT support function, you will be a key part of a diverse team, thrive in delivering high-quality results and always be on the lookout for improvements.

This is not a traditional office role, but is based in the heart of our fulfilment centres, working on shift basis with either 8 hours on five days per week or 10 hours on four days per week, as applicable in country.

Key job responsibilities

The extent of your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Ticket management including 1st and 2nd line support.

• Installation, maintenance and support of IT equipment.

• Working with the onsite and regional IT Engineers to implement projects and deliver innovations into the service.

• Asset and Inventory management.

• Liaise with 3rd party vendors and suppliers to ensure efficient asset management.

• Liaise with contractors or external suppliers and clearly communicate technical issues and Amazon standards.

• Maximizing the availability of all IT equipment and infrastructure through continuous improvement and proactive, preventative maintenance.

• Providing technical support/input to site and team projects and initiatives.

• Conducting end user equipment trials and testing.

• Providing assistance to IT engineers as required.

About the team

Putting the customers first, you will provide a 1st and 2nd line support service that ensures all IT equipment and infrastructure is running to its optimum performance and that all departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met on your home site as well as any remote sites that you and your team also support.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience troubleshooting integrated and interdependent computer systems

  • Experience maintaining zebra thermal printers, troubleshooting thin clients, PCs, scanners, and portable handheld terminals

  • Experience supporting Windows, Mac and/or Linux operating systems in a corporate setting

  • Experience with network troubleshooting and support

  • Valid driving license and flexibility to work and travel outside of your designated location.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Redhat), Microsoft hardware (installation), AWS, or other industry relevant certifications

  • Experience in a dynamic environment with a high degree of customer service
