We have an excellent opportunity for you to join our EMEA Commercial Operations team as an Intern Business Excellence EMEA within our German site in Darmstadt. We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible and is available for a period of 6 months to 1 year .

Position Summary

As an Intern in our Business Excellence Team , you will provide overall support for translating complex software requirements into seemless application systems using sophisticated technology platforms for the Thermo Fisher EMEA Commercial Operations team. This role supports Customer Care within Commercial Operations however a straight collaboration with other departments within our Life Science Division is required with the aim of supporting EMEA/corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn, evaluate, and perform time studies on common EMEA Commercial Operations processes and workflows with the focus on Customer Care.

• Identify likely areas of emerging applications and propose applications solutions to management.

• Capture and evaluate requirements for building application systems (e.g., Power BI, Power Apps).

• Develop automated solutions and dashboards based on specifications using low and no codes applications (e.g., Power Apps, O365, Python, SQL, AI tools, etc).

• Testing source code and debugging code designed prototypes.

• Evaluating existing applications and performing updates and modifications.

• Developing technical handbooks and training materials.

• Delivering trainings and teaching users.

• Drive continuous Process Improvements by using Process Improvement tools.

• Maintenance of daily reports and dashboards by utilising key metrics as per defined within teams’ assignments.

Who We Are Looking For

• A completion of a four-semester program of a computer science-related degree program.

• Proficient written and verbal English language required. Other European languages are advantageous.

• Ability to analyse mathematical functions with an understanding of statistics.

• First experience with low and no code applications.

• First competencies in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

• Excellent interpersonal skills required.

• Strong social skills to work with diverse levels of colleagues.

• Self-motivated with a high bias for problem solving and action.

• Fluent in English, German is a plus but not a must
