Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital has an opening in the Pre-Admission Testing unit for a Nurse Practitioner!

General Responsibilities

The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for preparing adult patients for their admission and surgical experience. This includes their medical and anesthesia history, physical assessment, and the planning /evaluation of patient needs to facilitate efficient and safe pre-operative care.

Education and Training:

  • MSN required

Certification and Licensure:

  • Current Pennsylvania state RN license required

  • Pennsylvania Nurse Practitioner License

  • Nurse Practitioner Certification

  • BCLS required

  • ACLS preferred

  • IV Certification preferred

Skills:

  • Strong Physical Assessment Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong Organizational skills

  • Demonstrates ability to use problem solving, critical thinking and priority setting skills

  • Ability to perform diversified duties with time limitations with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Computer skills preferred.

Experience:

  • Medical Surgical Nursing experience preferred

  • Prior clinical experience preferred.
