DESCRIPTION OF WORK The role of the Psychological Services Specialist is multifaceted and requires a high level of expertise in the field of counseling and psychotherapy. You will be responsible for assessing and facilitating the psychological component of rehabilitation and social development for court-committed residents in the youth development center and youth forestry camp system. You will also provide consultation to supervisory counseling staff and work as a team member of the clinical team. This position requires a strong understanding of counseling and psychotherapy techniques and the ability to apply them effectively in one or more programs at the North Central Secure Treatment Unit.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment (7.5 hours per day; 37.5 hours per week) Work hours include of 4 days of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM shift and 1 day of 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM shift, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work schedule and hours may change based on operation needs. Overtime and travel as operationally necessary FREE Parking Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $66,250.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A master's degree in a behavioral science, counseling education, rehabilitation, human development or a closely related field.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
