Learning and Talent Systems Consultant

Position Overview

T he Learning & Talent Systems Consultant is a strategic role focused on managing and optimizing Workday Learning and Talent applications to align with the organization's talent management needs. This role serves as a bridge between technical support groups and business units, ensuring the operational performance of learning management systems (LMS) and talent applications . T his role will also be responsible for supporting the learning and talent data strategy across multiple systems within the enterprise, working closely with HR T echnology and People Analytics to gather and prepare data to drive the enterprise L earning & O rganizational D evelopment strategy .

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as the connection between Workday technical support groups (HR Technology) and Learning and Talent groups throughout the business to ensure operational performance of the Workday LMS and Talent Applications

  • Analyze customer LMS and Talent Application needs and recommend solutions.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including HR Technology, to support subject matter experts for Learning/Talent Management Systems.

  • Ensure all training programs developed are compatible with the LMS for reporting purposes.

  • Maintain and administer Workday usage standards for administrators and end-users.

  • Enforce organizational standards for course and configuration management.

  • Assist with the development of new content in the LMS and management of existing content.

  • Execute the learning analytics strategy across multiple learning management systems within the enterprise.

  • Work closely with HR Technology and People Analytics to gather learning and development insights.

  • Supervise the testing, implementation, and quality assurance processes of new LMS features.

  • Analyze course analytics, data, and models, providing reports and visual dashboards to track course effectiveness.

  • Partner and share knowledge of industry trends and updated platforms with colleagues and learning partners to enhance the team's overall capabilities.

  • Collaborate with Learning & Training resources, HR partners, Talent Management, and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and performance gaps.

  • Conduct comprehensive learning needs assessments using various methodologies.

  • Manage the development of the ALPS (Accelerating Learning Professionals at Shaw) program to develop skills within the organization.

  • Analyze assessment data to determine critical learning priorities and develop actionable recommendations.

  • Develop and administer assessments to measure knowledge, skills, and performance against defined competencies.

  • Work alongside L&OD peers to drive the learning evaluation strategy, measuring the effectiveness of learning interventions and their impact on employee performance.

    Position Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree required ( Master’s degree preferred) with at least 5-7 years ' experience with the administration of Learning Management Systems and/or Human Capital Management systems . W orkday Learning & Talent experience is required .

    ​ Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in SCORM and AICC Standards, Workday Learning & Talent, Custom Reports, Calculated Fields, and Discovery Boards.

  • Experience using metrics , evaluation data, and reporting principles for training programs

  • Thorough understanding of data analysis

  • Proficient in connecting data to larger company initiatives and insights

  • Demonstrated capability in project management and communication.

  • Experience managing and recommending enhancements to streamline work processes

  • Excellent and effective business communication skills both verbally and in writing; ability to collaborate effectively at all business levels including the ability to successfully manage relationships with team, vendors, leadership and stakeholders

  • Strong collaboration skills and a proven track record in successful project management and learning technologies execution are required .

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-pac ed team environment while seeking input from others

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, Tableau, BusinessObjects, etc. ) is a plus.

  • Instructional Design, E-learning authoring tool knowledge or multimedia development expertise is also a plus.
