dsm-firmenich is recruiting for its prestigious four year Graduate Apprenticeship programme on the Dalry site. The candidate will be required to undertake an undergraduate degree alongside their day-to-day work. This will be completed by a blend of remote learning and university learning on campus at Robert Gordon University. The expected on-campus time is 1 day per module [4 modules] and 1 induction day the week before teaching commences, so 5 days per academic year. The undergraduate degree will be BEng Hons Instrumentation, Measurement and Control. The candidate will be given time and support by the company to complete the required learning outcomes and will be mentored on site by C&I Engineer.

Your key responsibilities
• Directing, and providing Technical Support to the Maintenance Team to resolve problems with process instrumentation such as: control valves, temperature, pressure, flow, level monitoring equipment, process analysers, and Distributed Control Systems.
• Maintaining equipment in a safe operating condition to minimise loss of productivity and maximise availability and efficiency.
• Ensuring that Maintenance documentation is current and reflects best practice, and is maintained in accordance with Operational Procedures, ISO Quality standards and Safety/Legal requirements and ensure compliance with dsm-firmenich policies and UK legislation for IET wiring Regulations, HSE Guidance, ATEX etc.
• Investigating equipment/maintenance related asset utilisation incidents causing deviations in quality or breakdowns. Implementing agreed corrective and preventive actions.
• Support Improve Equipment Reliability Process (IER) through active participation in the relevant work processes.
• Support C&I Engineer and craft team on daily maintenance tasks to support the effective and efficient running of plant machinery

You bring
• Successful candidates will have at minimum BBBB at Higher level, including Maths, English, Physics and an Engineering Science or Technological Studies. Applicants with non- standard qualifications (including Foundation Apprenticeships, Modern Apprenticeships, SVQs/NVQs/HNC and access programmes) or work experience will be considered on an individual basis.
• Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to apply the key skills required for the role e.g planning, problem solving and safety management.
• Other key skills will include good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
