Description

The UROPharmacy Coordinator is responsible for providing the highest level of work, to ensure patients receive the best care when ordering catheters and/or medications. The UROPharmacy Coordinator must communicate any issues to the Manager, and can volunteer solutions to these problems. The Pharmacy Coordinator should be willing to assist the co-workers, management and physicians as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for completing the catheter order in a timely manner. Once UROPharmacy receives the catheter order it will be processed by the next business day and mailed out to the patient’s address on file.

  • Contact the patient to discuss the order and review any questions the patient may have related to the catheters.

  • Keep a copy of the shipping confirmation on file to document the day and time the catheters arrived to the patient’s address.

  • Ensure that catheters are appropriately labeled, stored and utilized according to physicians’ instructions.

  • Answer incoming calls with a positive attitude and assist the patient.

  • The UROPharmacy Coordinator is responsible for solving numerous problems such as catheter order not being processed correctly, order missing patient’s signature, insurance not covering service and dealing with doctors or nurses when problems arise.

  • Be able to identify that a claim has been denied or not paid in full

  • Be able to investigate and identify the denial or partial payment reason

  • Be able to correct errors on claims and write and submit appeals

  • Has general working knowledge of the accounts receivable process

  • Responsible for appearance of the pharmacy. The Department is expected to appear tidy by the end of the day.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma

  • Maintains an understanding of the latest techniques and guidelines in the pharmacy

  • Must have a basic knowledge of the rules and regulations that the pharmacy is governed under

  • Must have interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, co-workers, and others.
