About the Role:
The UI/UX Designer is responsible for the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design of various digital assets. The role will ensure all elements of online user experience are optimized for improved usability, usefulness, and exceptional visual design.
The UI/UX Designer will deliver adaptive and creative solutions to UI/UX design problems by staying up to date on best practices and emerging trends in user experience design and user interface technology.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and other designers to understand user needs, translate requirements into engaging designs, and advocate for the best possible user experience.
Qualified Candidates Need:
A portfolio of professional design projects that include web/mobile applications
Working knowledge of the following technologies and software: Sketch, InVision, Balsamiq, Visio, HTML, CSS (SCSS), iOS, Android, Design Systems, Adobe Creative Suite, Jira, Confluence
Strong visual design skills with a solid understanding of visual design principles
Intellectual curiosity and analytical skills in broad areas relating to user experience, technology and design
An understanding of user-centered design principles and the ability to execute upon them
Excellent multi-tasking, context switching, and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
Web Accessibility Standards
Should be comfortable working in a very dynamic and collaborative work environment
Outstanding verbal and written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills are required
Team player with the ability to work independently
Must be able to think strategically about design, take the initiative to learn independently and proactively contribute to the success of the team
Bachelor’s degree (BSc in Design, Computer Science, or relevant field) or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years UI/UX design experience with digital products and services
Experience with user research methodologies, including conducting interviews, surveys, and usability testing to research and develop target personas
Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with Product Owners and Technology Leads
Design across multiple platforms including desktop and mobile devices
Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, images, sketches, tables, process flows, and sitemaps
Design graphic user interface elements such as menus, tabs, buttons, search boxes, and widgets
Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look
Prepare and present mockups and prototypes to internal teams and key stakeholders for approval and iteration
Create, manage, and own style standards, fonts, colors, and images (Style Guide, Brand Book)
Create, mange, and own Style Guide as it relates to routine maintenance, implementation, outbound communication regarding updates and releases, and managing suggestions/questions/requirements from key stakeholders
Implement UI/UX best practices and principles
Work with development team during the implementation process to ensure the visual design and interactions are implemented as designed
Initiates and leads efforts to improve the overall digital experience by continuously evaluating user behavior and design
Identify and test/troubleshoot UI/UX problems (e.g. responsiveness, banners, page layouts, page design, page flow, target links for landing page)
Perform market research and competitor analysis to assist Product Managers as needed
