AWS Support provides global technical support to a wide range of external customers as they build mission-critical applications on top of AWS services such as Amazon S3 and Amazon EC2. The team is a self-standing P&L with our ability to drive both Amazon Free Cash Flow and world class customer experience. We have a team of talented engineers located in multiple locations around the world, and are growing rapidly.

Amazon Web Services has an opening for a Training Program Manager who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and has a strong training and development background. As a Training Program Manager, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and developing high quality training content for technical and non-technical learning programs for the AWS Support team. This role focuses on managing training programs for business critical needs with a requirement for significant program and project management experience. This is not a training delivery role as it does not involve regular classroom delivery of training. You will play a significant role in the growth of Cloud Support Engineers.

The primary responsibilities for the Training Program Manager include:

  • Define, develop, and manage a global program and supporting curricula for Cloud Support Associates to onboard them to AWS Support and provide career development programs to help them achieve the next step in their career.

  • Collaborate effectively with the AWS Support leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and others on the AWS Support team to develop technical and non-technical learning solutions.

  • Collaborate effectively with other Global Training Program Managers at multiple sites to ensure delivery of curricula across multiple, global locations.

  • Work independently to manage multiple projects and programs concurrently.

  • Design and develop training materials and programs, applying adult learning principles and systematic instructional design to create learning curricula that best fits the needs of the audience and content (includes online, classroom, virtual instructor-led training and blended learning).

  • Design and develop exercises, tutorials, job aids, assessments, and other methods of learning including social or connected learning strategies.

  • Use learning and business metrics to perform needs analyses and evaluate program results to continuously improve learning effectiveness.

  • Provide train the trainer sessions (classroom or virtual/remote) to support implementation of training programs.

  • Manage curricula and provide activity reporting to a global audience to measure adoption and training acquisition.

  • Maintain wikis with current program details and reporting metrics.

This role is hybrid in our Dallas, TX or Herndon, VA offices with 3x per week in-office.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
