Topgolf Sr Manager, Franchise Finance in Dallas, Texas

Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Franchise Finance to lead and oversee the financial operations of our growing Franchise business. In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading financial planning and analysis providing valuable insights to our cross-functional Franchise team to reach our short and long-term financial goals and acting as a key liaison between Topgolf and our franchisees. This strategic role is key to ensuring the financial health of the Franchise business and requires providing leadership in financial reporting, analysis, short and long-term budgeting & forecasting, and compliance. Your ability to analyze data, develop insightful reporting, effectively communicate performance, including risks and opportunities to our internal and external stakeholders, and provide actionable recommendations will be critical to achieving compelling economics. You will play a pivotal role in guiding our decision-making.

Job Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning and Forecasting: Lead the development and execution of the financial planning process, including annual budgets, short and long-term forecasts, financial modeling for International Real Estate Committee new venue approvals, and strategic plans for our Topgolf Franchise business. (30%)Business Partnership: Serve as a key thought partner by working closely with our cross-functional team to establish targets, monitor actual performance, conduct monthly variance analysis and recommendations. Establish finance cadence with franchisees to monitor performance and supply insights as needed. Foster a collaborative culture and ensure financial alignment throughout the Franchise business. (20%)

  • Performance Insights: Transform data and information into insights that inform high-level strategy and tactical decision-making in support of revenue and profitability targets. Conduct in-depth financial analyses, including variance analysis, profitability assessments, and scenario modeling. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the entire P&L and communicate actionable insights to senior management. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to monitor and drive the business economics and franchisee performance. (25%)

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in financial planning processes and tools, forecasting and reporting methodologies, and analysis techniques. Automate reporting, implement best practices and leverage emerging technologies to improve processes. (15%)

  • Support requests from Franchise Leadership Team and franchise partners to supply insights and resources. (10%)

Critical Skills & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (Required)

  • CPA or MBA Preferred

  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to think strategically, identify trends, evaluate risks and opportunities, and provide insights to support business decisions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.

  • Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of GAAP principles, financial concepts, including financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and valuation. Ability to analyze financial data and draw meaningful insights.

  • Project Management: sets objectives, identifies deliverables, and creates plans to complete work/projects timely and accurately.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in financial planning and analysis tools and systems. Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, financial reporting tools, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (PPT, Excel, Word).

  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and many levels

  • General business knowledge in retail/restaurant/hospitality across operations, marketing, finance, supply chain, and IT

  • Effective Communication: Ability to maintain strong communication lines across franchise team and franchise partners

  • Adaptability and Resilience: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances, navigate ambiguity and deliver against timelines

  • 7+ Years Experience in finance, preferably within franchising or hospitality industries

  • 5+ Years Expert-level MS Office and utilization of financial planning software, such as Anaplan

  • 5+ Years Financial planning and analysis or related roles with increasing levels of responsibility and track record of delivering financial growth and operational improvements

  • 5+ Years Strong understanding of financial models (preferably franchise and multi-unit models), P&L management, and financial analysis

  • 5+ Years Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
