  • This job is a member of the Pilot Movement/Vacancy team within the Crew Planning Division. Analysts are expected to develop in depth understanding of crew processes and contract rules.

What you'll do

  • Responsible for managing monthly long-course training assignments for pilots in accordance with CBA contractual rules

  • Analyzes and interprets pilot CBA requirements and its application to training and pilot movement

  • Provides customer service and support via email to all AA pilots in regard to questions related to long-course training assignments as well as contractual rules related to training

  • Implements contractual requirements regarding long-course training removals or changes for pilots

  • Maintains close working relationships with the Flight Training department, Chief Pilots, Labor Relations, and the APA on pilot training assignments, training changes, removals, resolving pilot training issues, and interpreting and understanding contractual language

  • Provides monthly & weekly analysis and reports on pilot long-course training to multiple departments

  • Maintains process documentation and assists with process improvement and automation within the Pilot Movement/Vacancy team

  • Ad hoc projects as required

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Business, Economics or related field and/or equivalent experience/training

  • 3 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Experience in a crew-related environment (crew-scheduling, crew training, etc.)

  • Strong analytical background involving data input, manipulation, and presentation

  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with an aptitude for problem solving

  • Process improvement experience

  • Understanding and familiarity with unions and contracts

  • Experience in airline operations

  • Experience with SQL and advanced Excel modeling is a plus

  • Working knowledge of probability, statistics, and forecasting techniques a plus

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Ability to work effectively, meet deadlines, and shift priorities appropriately in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions while taking ownership of job responsibilities

  • Ability to work as a team player in a high-stress environment

  • Ability to decipher JCBA requirements and its application to existing members

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels in the organization

  • Ability to listen and accurately diagnose caller issues to provide resolution, or explanation in a clear, concise and friendly tone

  • Self-motivated and logical with aggressive approach to identifying and solving problems

  • Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
