Job Title: Software Engineer
Job Description
The Software Engineer will collaborate with software and hardware teams to create code and documentation supporting the control and monitoring of company products and systems. Experience with radio or TV transmitter equipment and control systems is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Develop software solutions by conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
Anticipate problem areas by utilizing the software development life cycle.
Determine operational feasibility by evaluating problem definitions, requirements, and proposed solutions.
Document and demonstrate solutions through flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
Stay updated with state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment.
Participate in educational opportunities, read professional publications, maintain personal networks, and engage in professional organizations.
Support the organization by providing advice, coaching, and participating in product/system design reviews.
Essential Skills
5+ years of experience as a software engineer with demonstrated success in developing a variety of software systems.
5+ years of experience in developing control and monitoring applications utilizing custom register interfaces and TCP protocols.
Proficiency in developing and troubleshooting complex software systems in mixed environments including Linux, Unix, and Windows on desktop, server, tablet, and mobile systems.
TCP/IP debugging with ICDs.
Experience configuring and using Linux, C/C++, TCP/IP networking, web development (HTML(5), PHP, GTK+3.x or similar GUI development).
Hands-on work with lower-level communication protocols, RF experience, lab/test equipment, schematics & board-level parts.
Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
US Citizenship.
Ability to travel at least 5% of the time.
Work Environment
You will work in a team of highly skilled engineers in a company with over 100 employees. The primary product is high-power RF amplifiers used in transmitting equipment for the Navy and NASA. The work environment encourages autonomy, with less structured management, ideal for those who thrive in smaller companies with fewer management layers. Engineers here develop controls that manage transmitter operations and analyze data from sensors to provide feedback on performance. The role includes GUI development, data analysis, and algorithm development. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $75.00
