Description We are seeking a Senior Property Accountant in Dallas, Texas, 75219, United States. This role involves performing accounting and reporting duties for development and operating projects. The successful candidate will work in a team-oriented environment, utilizing their skills in various accounting software systems.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct monthly general ledger close for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with GAAP and/or Fair Value

• Prepare all necessary journal entries within required deadlines

• Manage the research, reconciliation, and resolution of issues for all balance sheet accounts on assigned projects

• Review income statements & balance sheets at month-end for specific transactions on assigned projects

• Set up and record wires for cash contributions, distributions, draw fundings, interest expense, management fees, and other fees

• Collaborate with Development Directors and team to ensure timely receipt of all documentation required for the monthly draw submission

• Handle the reconciliation and preparation of monthly draw package for equity and/or loan funding purposes

• Record monthly draw fundings and prepare wire transfers

• Perform monthly calculation of development and/or property management fees

• Assist with the accounting for property acquisitions and dispositions, including review and summarization of related documents and journal entry preparation in accordance with GAAP

• Prepare GAAP financial statements and supporting schedules and assist with recurring audits of financial statements

• Ensure compliance with lender reporting requirements

• Communicate and provide information to development directors, property managers, capital partners, auditors, corporate accounting, tax department, lenders, and others as needed. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field is required.

• Relevant certification (e.g. CMA, CPA) is a plus.

• Proven experience as a Senior Property Accountant or similar role within the real estate industry.

• Solid understanding of account coding procedures and practices.

• Proficiency in using accounting software systems such as AMSI and AppFolio.

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services for conducting financial transactions.

• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting functions including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).

• Experience in accrual accounting and able to manage periodic account reconciliation.

• Adept at auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns.

• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
