Job Summary and Qualifications
Scribe
Seeking a Scribe for our practice who provides clerical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Transcriptionist provides a variety of clerical duties, including medical transcription, to physicians and other members of the clinic.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
· Transcribes dictated material, producing an average of at least 138 lines per hour.
· Meets production standards and maintains error of 3% or less.
· Edits reports in the system.
· Queues and transcribes all requests for STAT transcription as needed. Charts transcribed reports once a shift.
· Logs, prints, and maintains reports.
· Follows through with assignments and informs supervisor if unable to complete task.
· Maintains the strictest confidentiality.
· Perform other duties as required.
· Must read and understand and adhere to all Physician Services policies and procedures.
· Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Values statements.
EDUCATION: No education Requirement
EXPERIENCE: One to three years’ experience in a medical office setting is required. Prior transcription experience is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology
· Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type from draft copy, review and edit reports and correspondence.
· Skill in operating a computer, Dictaphone, and copy machine.
· Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to type at least 60 wpm.
· Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.
· Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
