Robert Half Property Accountant in Dallas, Texas
Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Property Accountant in the Real Estate industry, based in Dallas, Texas. This role involves the thorough management of financial data, including the preparation and analysis of financial statements, as well as the coordination with multiple departments.
Responsibilities:
• Handle the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements on a regular basis, including monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
• Assist with the annual budget preparation and provide comprehensive analysis of financial data.
• Reconcile and update cash transactions with bank records daily.
• Manage the input of journal entries into the accounting software system.
• Prepare tax work papers for tax consultants and manage the preparation of Investor's Reports quarterly.
• Regularly correspond with various departments such as A/P, A/R, Operations, and Construction.
• Examine general ledger accounts for inconsistencies and significant misstatements, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
• Handle the month end, quarter end, and year end financial closings.
• Analyze and prepare cost allocations and handle multiple ongoing projects within specified deadlines.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a Property Accountant role or similar
• Proficient in account coding and understanding of accounting functions
• Demonstrated experience with accounting software systems
• Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Knowledge of accrual accounting methods
• Experience in auditing practices
• Skilled user of Yardi, Yardi Property Management, Yardi Software, and Yardi Voyager
• Experience in property accounting, specifically within commercial property management
• Understanding of property budgets and property management accounting
• Experience working with a property management company
• Knowledge of property tax returns and general property tax guidelines
• Experience in real estate property management and real estate accounting
• Understanding of real estate finance
• Experience with processing approved invoices, code invoices, coding invoices, customer invoices, entering invoices, and entering vendor invoices
• Understanding of invoice processing and management
• Knowledge of aged receivables and accounts receivables systems.
