Position: Manager, Commercial Data Visualization
Job Description:
Forward Air is seeking a Manager, Commercial Data Visualization, who will play a pivotal role in designing and developing interactive and visually engaging data visualizations to drive actionable insights that support revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, a keen eye for design, and experience with various data visualization tools. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and develop data-driven solutions that address key business challenges and capitalize on emerging opportunities in the LTL and Freight Forwarding industry.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
Data Analysis and Interpretation, Visualization Design, Tool Development and Management, Collaboration and Communication, and Quality Assurance
Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and objectives
Conduct ad-hoc analysis and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership based on data insights
Design and create interactive dashboards, charts, graphs, and reports that effectively communicate data insights
Develop and implement visual standards and best practices to ensure consistency and clarity
Utilize tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or other visualization software to build and maintain visualizations
Continuously explore and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance data visualization capabilities
Work closely with Sales Leaders, Analysts, and business units to translate complex data into user-friendly visualizations
Present findings and visualizations to stakeholders, providing clear and actionable insights
Ensure accuracy and integrity of visualizations by conducting thorough testing and validation
Address and resolve any issues related to data quality or visualization functionality
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Graphic Design, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
Minimum of 7 years of experience in data visualization, data analysis, or a related role, preferably in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain disciplines
Proven experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar
Working knowledge of freight management systems and familiarity with industry-specific datasets
Strong proficiency in data visualization best practices and principles
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly
Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other data manipulation languages is a plus
Strong attention to detail and design aesthetics
Skills:

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
