Heres What Youll Get To Do
The Legal Operations Specialist will report to the Companys General Counsel and will manage and coordinate Legal Operations and related matters, including:
- Assuming a leadership role on the General Counsels behalf to ensure cross-functional projects/processes are moving forward on deadline and according to key performance indicators
- Evaluating and implementing Legal Operations technology support (e.g., contract lifecycle management)
- Analyzing current Legal approval processes and policies to identify areas for cost-effective improvements to support the Companys business strategy
- Standardizing Legal and Compliance policies and processes
- Coordinating administration of insurance claims and related litigation
- Ensuring compliance with litigation discovery obligations
- Coordinating internal processes for maintaining the Companys Intellectual Property portfolio
- Collaborating with Human Resources department to drive Compliance training
- Partnering with the Senior Corporate Paralegal to maintain accurate and confidential files and data records and establish IPO-ready policies and practices
- Supporting MandA diligence and integration activities
- Preparing analyses of Legal department spending against annual operating plan and strategic business initiatives
- Coordinating billing and administration of all Legal vendor relationships
- Reviewing and tracking outside counsel bills to confirm adherence to negotiated terms and discounts
- Collecting monthly accruals of incurred but unbilled charges from Legal vendors
- Preparing project and annual budgets and monitoring related metrics
Heres What Were Looking For
- Ability to work from our Dallas office an average of 3X per week
- This role requires a high level of professionalism and a strong client service orientation in cross-functional interaction with internal management at all levels, outside counsel vendors, counterparties, and other stakeholders.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communications and organizational skills, impeccable discretion and confidentiality, and be detail-oriented and organized.
- Must have the ability to work well in a team environment but also operate independently.
- Must be a self-starter who is capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines and is equally comfortable and effective in team meetings in the office, initiating calls or video meetings, or working independently to draft written work product.
- Required experience includes familiarity with technology processes, procedures, and programs typically utilized by sophisticated in-hou e legal departments.
- Experience with software solutions for Legal billing, contract lifecycle management, and subsidiary governance is preferred.
- Familiarity with project management principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat), and the interest and aptitude to learn and evaluate new technological solutions.
- Some paralegal experience is preferred but not required. Will consider candidates with Legal executive administrative experience who possess capability and ambition to advance into a Legal Operations role.
