Emler Swim School Facilities Maintenance Coordinator in Dallas, Texas
Emler Swim School, rapidly growing and continually providing exceptional service for young families in communities, seeks an experienced Facilities Maintenance Coordinator to support Swim School and Gymnastics Facility Operations. The Maintenance Coordinator supports operations teams at all locations to ensure services are not hindered by needed maintenance or repairs. This team member exercises independent judgment to prioritize requests from across the company and selects and manages effective vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely project completion to Emler Swim School standards.
Responsibilities
Manage maintenance vendors and suppliers to ensure swim school operations are not hindered by needed equipment and facility repairs.
Exercise independent judgment regarding vendor and contractor selections, and ensure quality and timeliness of work.
Establish or revise processes and guidelines for vendor management.
Using project and management skills and tools, including online portals, prioritize incoming requests, determine resolutions needed, schedule repairs, and ensure completion.
Keep all buildings, pools, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and related structures and equipment in good running order.
Maintain documents of inspections, problems, and resolutions.
Monitor and maintain yearly maintenance budget.
Ensure repairs are done correctly and to Emler Swim School standards, including those done by vendors and contractors.
Ensure purchases for products and services are competitively priced and have quality workmanship.
Follow company guidelines and processes for purchase orders and expense reporting.
May perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, paint, doors, and other building fixtures.
Communicate updates kindly and efficiently with team members regarding maintenance, repair next steps, and completion timelines.
Assist in preparing and submitting the company’s annual maintenance operating budget.
Prepare training and assist in training company team members on conducting regular maintenance.
Inspect and identify equipment or machines needing repair and troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
Follow up with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely results.
Foster and maintain strong, respectful, and ethical relationships with vendors and suppliers to uphold the organization's reputation for integrity, professionalism, and reliability.
Physically inspect the maintenance of company buildings and facilities.
Read and interpret gauges, designs, technical manuals, and construction drawings.
Respond to facility alarms.
Respond to employee complaints regarding services under the responsibilities of the Maintenance Department.
Evaluate work performed by assigned staff and contracted services.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalency
Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Construction experience in skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, roofing and welding
Administrative skills for scheduling management, ordering supplies, handling records predicting needs, and planning ahead
Physical strength and dexterity with prior experience lifting and safely moving extremely heavy equipment and supplies
Strong verbal and written communication
Ability to work in extreme hot or cold conditions
Organizational and time management skills
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Preferred
High School Diploma required
Previous experience with HVAC and pool equipment preferred
3-5 years experience
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The job operates inside and outside Emler Swim School offices and buildings, in all seasons. Includes extended periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, as well as periods of working in heated pool environments or outdoor equipment rooms. Includes using office tools such as computers, phones, printers, pool equipment, and repair and construction tools.

POSITION TYPE, EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Emler Swim School's hours of operation are Monday through Sunday, between approximately 8:00 a.m. to 9 p.m. with occasional Sunday customer events or work shifts. This is a full-time position, most often working standard daytime office hours, which includes some work scheduled during evenings and weekends.
TRAVEL
Weekly travel to other locations is common. Occasional travel to other cities or states is possible.
