Job Summary and Description:
Energy Storage is a transformative technology, supporting the integration of renewable energy and providing increased grid resilience and flexibility. EPRI's Energy Storage and Distributed Generation team performs cutting-edge research related to energy storage technology, economics, and operation, and deployment to support utilities and the industry at large. EPRI staff are thought-leaders, leading collaborative efforts with a variety of stakeholders, including utilities, project developers, technology suppliers, safety personnel, public stakeholders and more.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
Support activities for energy storage projects, including test plan development, commissioning support, feasibility analysis, and data analysis to characterize economics, performance, reliability and operations for energy storage systems.
Support energy storage technology research, performing project engineer tasks related to demonstration or pilot project planning, evaluation, preparation and execution of lithium ion and emerging energy storage technologies.
Support energy storage safety research, performing studies related to safe system design, operation, and decommissioning.
Conducts technical searches and analyzes technical information in support of the project team.
Communicates results, written and verbal, to program members, potential members and external stakeholders through guidelines, reports, meetings, webcasts, workshops and conferences.
Performs routine analysis in technical or scientific areas at direction of manager.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Additional Requirements:
Assists technical research leads in assessing customer needs, formulating technical approaches, preparing proposals, technical publications/papers, and making presentations with minimal supervision.
Able to present at external conferences and meetings on technical work.
Has an understanding of other programs at EPRI and how specific program work fits into the EPRI mission.
Education:
3+ more years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required.
The salary range for this position is $88,350 USD to $105,000 USD annually.
This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.
This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, STD/LTD and paid family leave, life and accident insurance, paid time off (flexible vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay).
