Compass Datacenters Design Constructability Lead in Dallas, Texas

Compass is seeking a Design Constructability Lead to join our Design & Solutions Engineering team in Dallas, TX. In this role, you work with the Principal of Design & engineering.

The purpose of the role is to ensure the design of all projects are executed as per the Compass Datacenters Design Continuous Improvement & Innovation Program. The Design Constructability Lead will provide three main functions:

  • Steward on the Design Continuous Improvement & Innovation Program management & delivery.

  • Steward on Design Constructability coordination including BIM management, construction site visit and construction photo review.

  • Steward on leading cross functional collaboration on CI study including business lens study (cost, time, risk, benefit).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a design continuous improvement platform to advocate Compass strategic anchors.

  • Embrace spirit of innovation on new technology, new product to support Compass being a leader/ pioneer in the industry.

  • Manage DECN (design engineering change notice) cycle (plan, study, delivery & execution).

  • Support project team members to coordinate tasks and resources to meet deadlines and milestones per CI action tracker.

  • Perform design constructability review including regular construction site visit & meeting with contractor, construction photo review & BIM coordination management.

  • Chair cross-functional meetings with internal & external Stakeholders on business lens study (cost, time, risk benefit) & ROM analysis.

  • Develop quarterly KPIs ($/KW & time saving) to track performance and identify continuous improvements opportunity.

  • Assist in removing roadblocks as necessary by communicating with internal and external resources and partners.

  • Design experience delivering complex and multi-disciplined projects.

  • Excellent communication and time management skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to produce quality work and achieve project objectives.

  • Self-driven, and results-oriented with a positive outlook.

  • A forward planner, who identifies and resolves project/program challenges effectively.

  • Ability to lead, coordinate and supervise both internal and external teams.
