The Opportunity

Delaware North is currently hiring a Chief Operating Officer to lead our Travel Hospitality subsidiary. In this role, you will provide executive leadership to develop business strategy, sustain growth, and generate profitable operations while effectively positioning THS with relevant constituencies. The COO partners with the growth team in the review of new business opportunities, is focused on guest experience, and leads the relationships with airports, brands, and airport hospitality trade groups. Due to the extensive travel required in this role, potentially 50% - 75%, we are open to a remote candidate who lives near one of our major airport concessions operations.

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $219300 - $301500 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. Responsibilities

  • Shape and champion the vision and strategy for the THS business with a particular focus on major revenue and profit streams, client and consumer requirements as well as new business opportunities, product and concept innovations, and competitive advantage.

  • Set, recommend, and implement business strategy, short- and long-term objectives and goals; develops, presents, and accomplishes approved annual plan and provides leadership for the senior team ensuring plans cascade throughout the organization.

  • Create and encourage a culture of continuous improvement focused on guest and client satisfaction and associate engagement.

  • Leverage matrixed teams in sales, brands and concepts, and marketing to ensure effective positioning of our brands in the airports we operate.

  • Build a High Performing Team and foster a culture of trust, curiosity, continuous improvement, and innovation while inspiring others to achieve results.

  • Build and maintain key relationships with clients, partners, political communities, and industry associations to ensure THS is positioned effectively in the marketplace.

  • Anticipate trends and partner with the team to establish strategic and opportunistic plans to address all facets of operations as leader of the senior management team.

  • Establish overarching plans and oversees all facets of the business model as leader of the senior management team for THS.

  • Participate in enterprise-level issues strategy, opportunities, decisions, and support as a member of the Delaware North leadership team.

  • Ensure the THS has systems and controls, policy and processes are in place to achieve enterprise and legislative regulatory requirements including financial, human resources, operating, and technology.

Qualifications

  • 10 years' experience in an executive role of a similar large hospitality organization with revenues greater than $500million

  • Minimum of 15 years of management experience in hospitality industry; experience in restaurants, quick service, and grab-and-go concepts

  • Experience leading and managing teams

  • Extensive client relationship management skills in a complex, matrix-driven client structure

  • 50% business travel required, including nights and weekends.

  • Understand varying business models and levers and can use them effectively in different marketing conditions and as needed to build key relationships.

  • Adapts quickly and executes during changing business conditions, processes, work cultures, and environments.

  • Bachelor's degree required
