Job Description:

The University of Texas at Dallas has an excellent job opportunity for individuals looking to join the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences ( BBS ) as a Communications Manager.

The Communications Manager will be responsible for providing excellent written and verbal communications for BBS . The successful candidate will have a passion for communication to lay audiences and delivering exceptional user experiences. They will have excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. They must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, English or marketing. Five to seven years of experience including excellent written and verbal communication skills. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Three years of experience in web content management, digital communication or similar roles

  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and web accessibility standards

  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills

  • Mastery of Associated Press style

  • Familiarity with CampusPress content management system or applicable web publishing software Familiarity with web analytics tools

  • Strong project management skills and experience

  • Experience in a higher education, STEM or academic environment

  • Working knowledge or a variety of media, including news media, PR and web communications Strong attention to detail
