Description We are in search of a diligent and dedicated Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our legal team in Dallas, Texas. The CFO will work closely with the Business Operations team, managing accounting functions, overseeing the accounting staff, and assisting in budget preparation. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that our firm's financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Operate under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer Business Operations and provide support to the attorneys and staff in the firm.

• Oversee and direct all general accounting functions, including chart of accounts and general ledger, procedural aspects of the billing process, cash receipts and accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, petty cash, bank reconciliation, and client trust funds.

• Manage the accounting staff and prepare performance evaluations.

• Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure proper accounting of transactions, and promote operational efficiency within the Accounting Department and throughout the office.

• Monitor cash flow and perform cash management, including borrowing against lines of credit.

• Operate and maintain computerized accounting system.

• Assist in the preparation of annual budget, distribute monthly financial statements, maintain financial results on an ongoing basis and prepare financial projections.

• Assist with payroll and payroll withholding function and coordinate employee payroll matters with the Human Resources Department.

• Assist in monitoring the inventory of unbilled time and disbursements and accounts receivable; meet with timekeepers as necessary to resolve problem cases.

• Assist in the annual audit of the firm's 401K Plan.

• Prepare and issue the firm's tax return. Requirements

• Experience in Legal Services industry

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems

• Demonstrated experience in Accounting Functions

• Proven track record in Auditing

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Comprehensive understanding of Capital Management

• Skilled in Cash Flow Analysis

• Proficient in using Aderant software

• Expertise in Billing processes

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a CFO role or similar within the Legal industry

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

• Strong strategic planning and business development skills

• Excellent leadership and team management abilities

• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills

• Proven track record of managing financial strategies and operations

• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders

• Demonstrated integrity and commitment to ethical standards

• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
