Job Description:

Technician and production responsibilities within the UTD BEACONS battery prototype facility. BEACONS is a joint venture with the DOD in providing resources to aid in the advancement of new technology battery production domestically. This vision encompasses the development of the required workforce and analysis of the domestic supply of critical materials to establish probability. The technician role within the prototype facility will comprise of execution of the development of customer driven new technologies into an industry standard battery product within a prototype production environment. The technician assists battery assembly, validation, data collection, and test lab maintenance for the BEACONS facility at UT Dallas.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma and five (5) years related experience or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Two (2) years of battery manufacturing experience.

  • Strong skills in Excel and Word or similar application software.

  • Experience with hands-on operations and maintenance of automated equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to understand and follow directions.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

  • Ability to lead, mentor, and train others.
