Robert Half Asst / Fund Controller in DALLAS, Texas
Description Robert Half is seeking an ambitious and success driven Controller to join the ranks at a well-respected Real Estate & Property company. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. Based in the Dallas, Texas area, this opening for a Controller is a full-time position.
How you will make an impact
Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies Requirements - Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
CPA/MBA preferred
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Microsoft Excel experience desired
Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well
