Job Summary:
Position Description
The School of Behavioral and Brain Science ( BBS ) at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) seeks to fill a tenure-stream senior faculty position with an expert in biostatistics. This position offers rich collaboration opportunities in research areas across the health sciences. Applicants must have experience analyzing health-related data. Applicants with experience in the development of statistical analysis plans for clinical trials and a history of successful interactions with the US FDA regarding statistical analysis plans will be prioritized for hire. BBS is home to the UT Dallas Clinical and Translational Research Center ( CTRC ).
New hires will be expected to teach research design, basic and/or advanced topics in statistics, and other courses within their area of expertise as appropriate at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline and show evidence of an established record of publication, previous successful collaboration, and a history of institutional and professional service.
Successful applicants will be appointed to the Department of Neuroscience, Department of Psychology, or the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing. Joint appointments are possible.
The appointments will commence for the fall 2025 semester for the AY 2025-2026.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: A PhD in data science, statistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, mathematics, neuroscience, psychology, speech, language, and hearing science, or a related discipline is required. Candidates must have a significant history of scholarly achievements and must be able to deliver high quality teaching. Candidates must have a significant history of clinical research collaborations.
Preferred Education and Experience: A history of research collaborations broadly housed in the disciplines of neuroscience, psychology, or speech, language, and hearing are preferred. Experience in the development of statistical analysis plans for clinical trials and a history of successful interactions with the US FDA regarding statistical analysis plans are preferred.
The Department/Program/School
The UT Dallas School of Behavioral and Brain Science is home to the Department of Psychology, Department of Neuroscience, and Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing. Many faculty have affiliations with more than one department and collaborations across departments are encouraged. Faculty teach undergraduate and graduate level courses within their discipline and area of expertise. Cross-listing of undergraduate and graduate seminars facilitates multi-disciplinary student education.
All three BBS Departments are home to thriving undergraduate programs with multiple tracks that support students with diverse career interests, in addition to offering robust Masters’ degrees and PhD programs. BBS additionally houses highly regarded clinical education programs in both Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology and is in the process of launching a new Clinical Psychological Science program.
BBS faculty have opportunities for vibrant interdisciplinary collaborations with UT Dallas Centers including not only the Clinical and Translational Research Center, the Center for Vital Longevity, the Center for BrainHealth, and the Callier Center for Communication Disorders, but also the Center for Children and Families, the Texas Biomedical Device Center, and the Center for Advanced Pain Studies. BBS faculty have vigorous collaborations with the UT Dallas Bioengineering and Electrical Engineering programs, the UT Southwestern Medical Center, and Baylor University Medical Center.
The UT Dallas Clinical and Translational Research Center provides comprehensive support for clinical research including regulatory support, administrative staffing, and access to core facilities. Clinical and translational research programs are additionally facilitated by the UT Dallas Sammons BrainHealth Imaging Center.
