Job Title: Welder

Job Description

Our company specializes in the manufacture, sale, and service of aerial devices, digger derricks, cranes, and specialty equipment for the electric utility, telecommunications, tree care, construction, and light and sign maintenance industries in more than 120 countries. We have recently expanded, resulting in an over 50% production increase. We are currently in need of MIG welders.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to determine the sequence and methods of assembling components.

• Read and interpret work orders.

• Use basic hand tools such as tape measurers and specialty equipment.

• Learn and operate all equipment within the work area (cell).

• Perform rework as required.

• Support Production System initiatives and participate in RCI events.

• Move to other work areas to support production needs (cross-train).

• Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material, applying knowledge of shop math and layout techniques.

• Perform MIG welding using a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.

• Inspect assembly/components for conformance to specifications.

• Trim, file, grind, sand, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces using hand tools and portable power tools.

• Train new/current associates as needed.

• Follow established safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.

• Maintain daily time records.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of DALEVILLE, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00
