Amentum is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our engineering team in Dahlgren, VA.

Like learning about new systems and leading-edge weapon systems capabilities? Come learn and explore new technologies, new software, new hardware, and development tools in support of the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile Program. Along the way, advise the Government by researching new concepts and technologies and developing new Fleet capabilities. Help design, review and contribute to the Navy's new system. This candidate will participate primarily in the development and execution of the Trident Fire Control Weapons System and associated auxiliary systems. The candidate will perform systems engineering to advise SSP and NSWC Dahlgren on the design and development as well as the supporting software and systems development.

Collaboration with teams across A10 and A20 Divisions is expected of the candidate. There are currently a number of teams engaged in this work, and the expectation is that the candidate would join one of these teams. The teams are executing using Agile principles with a Kanban board.

Systems Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Leading engineering teams in the development and sustainment of Fire Control and Auxiliary Systems design, integration, and sustainment.

• Ability to perform analysis and problem-solving techniques necessary to execute professional scientific/engineering work.

• Ability to work independently and with others within established teams, across organizations, to meet established goals within schedule driven timelines.

• Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering, Scientific, or Technical discipline, or ten (10) years of a demonstrated and established knowledge base and subject matter expertise.

• Ten (10) years professional systems engineering experience with a DoD major strategic, platform, weapon, combat, Command and Control (C2), and/or fire control systems program, with five years’ concurrent experience as a team leader performing system engineering and mission engineering efforts that include developing requirements and top level designs and/or system architectures for software intensive systems. This includes experience related to the identification, analysis and resolution of complex systems engineering issues involving platform, weapon, combat, C2, and fire control systems for Navy/Joint warfighting capabilities.

• Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
