Naval Sea Systems Command IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/SYSADMIN) in Dahlgren, Virginia
Summary You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/SYSADMIN) in the Corporate Operations Department of NAVSURFWARCENDLD. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The full performance level of NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14. Responsibilities You will provide system administration, information assurance, cybersecurity compliance, and system architecture design and evolution (e.g., migrations and upgrades) of Corporate Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDTE) architectures. You will implement Enterprise Architecture in support of Command-wide Information Technology (IT) and Cybersecurity tools. You will provide recommendations to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) technical community on how to address Cybersecurity vulnerabilities. You will assess and advise the Command Information System Security Manager (ISSM) on accurate risks of vulnerabilities and priorities for remediation. You will develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures (SOP). You will implement and enforce local network usage policies and procedures. You will manage system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability. You will apply project leadership skills to effectively task and manage projects and group tasking (e.g., establishing objectives, setting schedules, coordinating tasks across teams, etc.). You will communicate and document concepts via the generation of Configuration Management documentation, SOPs, white papers, presentations, training packages, and technical data packages. You will develop and brief technical solutions for technical architecture designs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-4 pay band (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing system administration and ensuring cybersecurity compliance to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of an Information Technology (IT) program. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Education Additional Information This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The full performance level of NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14. The salary range shown in the announcement represents all of the positions within the band, including GS-14 equivalent (high grade) positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $153,354). This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
