Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Cypress, California
Description
We are offering a 2-3 month contract position as an Accounts Payable Specialist in Cypress, California. Operating within the finance industry, the Accounts Payable Specialist will be tasked with overseeing accounts payable operations and providing general support to other departments.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately and efficiently process credit applications from customers.
• Maintain precise records of customer credit.
• Address and resolve customer inquiries effectively.
• Monitor the status of customer accounts, initiating appropriate actions when necessary.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of accounts payable, including the processing, verification, approval, and execution of payments.
• Ensure proper coding, authorization, and compliance with company policies when reviewing and approving invoices.
• Organize and oversee payment runs, including check, ACH Transfers, and wire payments, while adhering to vendor payment terms and schedules.
• Promptly address and resolve any issues or disputes related to invoices and payments.
• Carry out account reconciliations, including bank, credit cards, general ledger accounts, vendor statements, and promptly resolve any discrepancies.
• Oversee vendor accruals and prepaid accounts, as well as manage Fixed Assets in the accounting system.
• Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal departments regarding financial matters.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing financial reports, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Support the warehouse manager with issues related to freight vendors and accruals.
Requirements • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role
• Demonstrable proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) operations
• Ability to prepare and maintain journal entries accurately
• Experience with monthly accruals and financial closing procedures
• Skilled in coding invoices for appropriate categorization and record keeping
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, reporting, and analysis
