Description
We are seeking an experienced engineer who has a knack for turning data into actionable insights by ensuring efficient data processing, storage, and presentation. This role combines expertise in data engineering with advanced visualization skills to improve data discoverability and support data-driven decision-making across the organization. In this role you will: * Lead the strategic vision and execution of self-serve data capabilities, developing visualizations to simplify complex data and facilitate informed business decisions. * Leverage your expertise in designing with data to deliver innovative solutions that address analytical needs and optimize business outcomes, effectively communicating your ideas to stakeholders. * Implement best practices for storytelling through data and optimize user experiences to enhance dashboard interactivity and usability. * Work with various data sources to build optimal data aggregations and serving layers for visualization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven ability to go beyond delivering specific requests by developing a suite of relevant and impactful data products that inform and influence decisions.
- Expert knowledge and experience in applying data design frameworks and processes, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering and data visualization, with a strong track record of managing the delivery of complex data and developing extensible visualization tools.
- Extensive experience in creating visually compelling and user-friendly representations of data to effectively communicate key insights.
- Proficiency with tools such as Tableau, Superset, Looker, or similar platforms.
- Advanced ability to query and manipulate large datasets using SQL, Python, Scala, or other programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with Spark or other distributed computing frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail, capable of tackling loosely defined problems effectively.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to engage broadly across diverse teams to unlock critical data and business outcomes.
- Proactive and curious mindset with a passion for leveraging data to drive decision-making.
- MS or BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field OR equivalent practical experience in Software or Data Engineering or Data Visualization.

- Experience with custom visualization frameworks and tools (e.g., D3.js, JavaScript, etc.).
- Experience with Cloud Computing platforms like Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure etc.
- Experience building data solutions to support machine learning, and experimentation workflows.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
