As a leader in the Retail and International People leadership team, the Director, Programs and Projects will lead cross-functional work that impacts the employee experience across Retail, People, and other business areas. The successful candidate will have a consistent record in leading large-scale, initiatives while encouraging strong collaboration with People and Retail leadership, as well as other cross-functional teams across Apple. You will be responsible for overseeing several critical areas, including Retail Development Services, Retail Workforce Programs and Analytics, and the Retail People PMO. This role also oversees pan Apple programs including Career Experience and Global People Expansion. A strong understanding of people leadership, program and project management, and retail operations is crucial to drive initiatives that are in line with our culture and core values. As a strategic and hands-on leader, you thrive in scaling initiatives while handling even the finest details. You excel at guiding dedicated, tenured teams to achieve their best, providing both structure and care. Senior leaders rely on you as a trusted partner, seeking your insights and support to achieve big goals. With a strong command of data, you shape strategy, drive planning, and increase impact. This role demands high attention to detail and a steadfast drive for results. You'll lead critical initiatives, collaborate across the organization, and champion a culture of continuous improvement. Minimum Qualifications

  • 15+ years of leading a portfolio of projects and programs

  • Superb verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience engaging effectively with high-level executives and partners

  • Able to lead resources optimally, balancing priorities to optimize outcomes

  • Experience with data, analytics and developing strategy based on quantitative analysis and qualitative assessment

  • A keen eye for identifying risks and issues that may negatively impact project delivery

  • Demonstrated expertise in the creation and delivery of presentations to a variety of audiences

  • Strong learning agility, ability to work effectively with existing processes while making the case for continued improvement

  • Outstanding communication skills; and ability to successfully work cross functionally to achieve goals

  • Experience navigating large, dynamic organizations

  • The ability to navigate ambiguity in a high stake, fast moving environment with efficiency, discretion, integrity and confidentiality

  • Bachelors Degree preferred

  • Experience in global People function(s) (e.g., Business Partners, Learning and Development, Talent Strategies, Analytics, etc)

  • Experience partnering with global Retail and People teams;

  • Experience directing a team distributed globally

  • Exhibit a deeply curious mentality about new insights

  • Experience developing and orchestrating work focused on Talent, Development and Employee engagement.

  • Integrate findings with business metrics to build deep business insight for the HR team, proactively find opportunities across the business and People function and recommend programs and program enhancements. Ensure deep understanding of the purpose and impact of all ongoing change initiatives, both inside and outside of the People function for themselves, their team and business partners.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $249,800 and $400,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
