Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team Coordinator at Archway Station, Inc.-- Cumberland, Maryland

Archway Station, with locations in Cumberland, Allegany County, Maryland and Oakland, Garrett County, Maryland, is a non-profit agency employing 175+ employees and serving the needs of mental health and substance use disorder individuals. The agency has been awarded a contract to provide Assertive Community Treatment services in Allegany and Garrett Counties. The team provides mental health services to those who present of serious mental health disorders, meeting folks where they are.

The ACT team will share the responsibility to carry out the activities designed to assure ACT mission success on and off-site, in groups and one-to-one contacts, in formal as well as informal situations. The ACT team will have primary responsibility for all members' treatment plans, shared responsibility for the ACT caseload, and shared responsibility to work out schedules, coverage, preparation, and implementation of all activities through a commitment to consensus building and teamwork. You will not work remotely. Mobile work in the community is required.

QUALIFICATIONS and OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Formal training equivalent to a Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a similar field, with clinical supervisory experience. Must qualify as a Licensed Mental Health Professional.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Driver's license and safe driving record; reliable transportation.
  • Personal stability, flexibility, and commitment to working with people who are chronically mentally ill.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Supervisory experience, including teamwork and program development.
  • Understanding and practical application of mental health treatment concepts including diagnoses, medication; crisis intervention; systems, group, and individual therapies, behavioral management.
  • Familiarity with and demonstrated ability to interact effectively with community treatment resources including Mental Health clinics, emergency room, hospital, private psychiatrists.
  • Oversight of the internal ACT on-call system to provide 24/7 coverage.
  • Facilitate a daily team meeting to review all members on caseload and develop workable strategies for their treatment, to provide housing, clinical stability, and employment.
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, and maintaining a team of mental health staff who are motivated to provide assertive community treatment to people recovering from severe mental illness who have not responded favorably to prior, more traditional services.

AUTHORITY:Position reports to the Executive Director and supervises the ACT team. Position is the liaison for all intra-agency departments and other community providers.

JOB TYPE:Full-time management level

CLASSIFICATION, SALARY, AND BENEFITS:Regular, full-time position; exempt from overtime. Grade 9b on salary schedule $64,440-$80,057 (Licensed, Masters Level).
