ATI METALS Entry Level Forge Process Controller in CUDAHY, Wisconsin

We\'re hiring high performers as proven as our products. Join us. We are currently seeking a Process Controller for our Cudahy, WI, facility, and we will train! The Process Controller observes and controls forging processes to ensure adherence to metallurgical and manufacturing requirements and initiates corrective action and makes recommendations to achieve control of forging processes to ensure product quality. Must be able to train for 6 months on different shifts as follows: 2 months on 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3pm-11pm), 2 months on night shift (Sun-Thurs, 11pm-7am, getting off Fri morning), and 2 months on 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 7am-3pm). Following training, the Process Controller will be assigned a specific shift, most likely night shift. Responsibilities Controls and monitors forge shop furnaces to ensure that furnaces maintain temperature accuracy and uniformity per internal and customer requirements Observes and documents forge production of parts requiring metallurgical surveillance Documents and alerts supervision, engineering and management to deviations from customer requirements or written forge procedures Operates temperature measuring devices such as optical/infrared pyrometer for temperature evaluation of stock, forgings, furnaces and tooling Recommends changes to Forging Instructions or Manufacturing Orders, coordinating with Forge Shop Supervision, Manufacturing Engineering and Metallurgical Engineering Performs analysis assignments such as review of heating times for operations, downtime review and other production problem investigations Keeps informed of metallurgical developments and changes that could affect the forging quality by working closely with Metallurgical Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers Supports ATI Forged Products, Safety and Quality Programs and ensures safe job practices are being practiced Other job duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications Basic reading, math, and measurement comprehension. The ability to read instructions and perform simple measurements. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Associate degree in Metallurgy preferred Previous professional experience with heavy manufacturing equipment preferred.
