Located in Dublin, Cruiserath Biologics Campus, a one billion Multi-Product Cell Culture Biologics Manufacturing facility plays a central role in the Global Product Development and Supply (GPS) network as the company's first European biologics manufacturing facility. This state of the art facility will produce multiple therapies for the company's growing biologics portfolio. Global Biologics Laboratory (GBL) responsible for the release testing of Biologics Drug product for the network, is also based on the Cruiserath Biologics Campus.

The Role

Reporting to the VP, Biologics Operations, Bristol-Myers Squibb is seeking to recruit on a permanent contract, Director, EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) to manage and continuously improve all EHS strategies and programs as well as fostering and sustaining a positive culture to prevent and avoid injuries and environmental incidents.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participates actively in the campus Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to sustain vision & mission, annual goals and desired culture while undertaking supportive actions which build commitment to these values, objectives, and our campus team.

  • Scope of role encompasses all BMS Ireland operations, specifically: Cruiserath Biologics, Shannon Operations, and our office in Blanchardstown Corporate Park

  • Communicate strategic and business objectives for EHS, consistent with GPS Biologics Operating Unit strategy.

  • Management of EHS team to address priorities, meet schedules, maximize productivity, increasing efficiencies and develop current and future leadership.

  • Maintain and continuously improve all components of the EHS management system, which include Biological Safety Program, Industrial Hygiene, Solid Wastes and Wastewater, Air Emissions, Crisis Management Program, EHS permitting, and ensure alignment with Global EHS directives, guidelines, and procedures.

  • Manage and continuously improve key EHS metrics, requirements, and infrastructure to ensure sustainable compliance and achievement of EHS site goals in alignment with Irish regulations (EPA & HSA) as well as European Law.

  • Management of annual operating budget

  • Partnering with Engineering team to drive Cruiserath Sustainability Strategies and achieving reduction in Greenhouse Gas emissions.

  • Support design and safe construction of new Sterile Drug Product (SDP) facility

  • Fostering a culture of psychological safety to enable continuous improvement and a safer workplace.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • The successful candidate must possess a relevant third level qualification.

  • A minimum of 10 years industrial experience in EHS at management level including manufacturing operations, construction safety experience also preferred.

  • The candidate will have demonstrated strong leadership and project management abilities, proven decision-making ability and the ability to work well with and influence all levels of management.

  • Prior experience as a member of site leadership team(s) also preferred.

  • Additionally, the successful candidate must be able to interact with a broad range of disciplines and exert positive influence within internal matrix teams across a variety of functions.
