Our Finance team plays an essential role in maintaining a healthy balance sheet at AIG. It delivers significant finance support for the overall enterprise, optimizing operations, controllership, funding, and capital structure to honor our stakeholder commitments. The team’s work is invaluable to informing leadership decision making, complying with regulatory requirements, and maintaining financial discipline, transparency and controls, while providing timely and meaningful information.

How you will create an impact

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the UK Collections Centre of Excellence team, where you will be a trusted partner within our reporting and consolidations function overseeing USD $8bn of GWP across 11 geographical clusters and 27 individual countries representing the largest region outside of the U.S.

The role will be ideally suited to a Finance professional with a Cash Operations, Finance Operations or Accounts Payable / Receivable background, comfortable working with large data sets and looking to progress within the insurance industry. Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Working with our onshore and 3rd party collection partners across the UK and EMEA region as the conduit supporting delivery of accurate and timely month end financial reporting, delivery of reporting enhancements to improve collection process efficiency and contributing to the delivery of our future operating model.

  • Delivering collections financial reports in line with monthly and quarterly cycles. Adhering to SOX and audit control frameworks within the collections function.

  • Taking technical ownership of AIG’s live ledger reporting (internal consolidation tool of different country subledgers).

  • Participating in meetings across a broad spectrum of stakeholders, business partners and third parties and building strong relationships with both technical support and financial teams.

  • Learning to regression test AIG system upgrades for collections and perform user acceptance testing. Providing high quality feedback in order to prioritise further remediation.

  • Assisting with identifying opportunities for additional standardisation within collections.

  • Providing ad-hoc support across a broad range of collections initiatives.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Experience in a technical finance role within a Financial Services organisation

  • Strong analytical and data driven mindset – we encourage out of the box thinking, problem solving skills leveraging past experiences to identify innovative solutions to challenges.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with the broader business, operations, finance, information technology and multi-disciplined stakeholders.

  • Comfortable in handling large data volumes and strong skills in traditional office software applications.

  • Skilled in excel, familiarity with basic macros and VBA functionality advantageous.
