Cuyuna Regional Medical Center * Ambulance Service Crosby, MN Management Full Time, Professional FTE: 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) Weekend Requirements: No weekends Posted 08/14/2024 Req # 13380 POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Ambulance is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring the Ambulance department, and Emergency Management Operations through effective management and leadership skills to assist the facility in meeting its mission. Under the direction of CRMC senior leadership will lead, oversee, and coordinate operations and services of CRMC departments in the event of disasters either man-made or natural. The Director of Ambulance will lead emergency management operations, to protect the safety and security of patients, visitors, staff and physicians. They will design and conduct emergency training programs while ensuring staff are prepared for whatever comes. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred. A minimum of 3 years of EMS/Ambulance leadership experience required. Previous experience in Emergency Management and Security preferred. A combination of inpatient and community-based experience preferred. License/Certificates: MN Paramedic License. Certification in state of Minnesota required; national registration preferred. BLS and ACLS provider or instructor level certification required. Certification with the national registration preferred. PALS and NRP within 4 months of hire (Provider and Instructor level certification). Class D driver's license NIMS 100, 200, 700 preferred. Special Skills and Aptitudes: Must possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Effective interpersonal relationship skills including good listening and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings and with a wide variety of people and different organizational levels. Ability to develop effective relationships with various stakeholders. Ability to effectively supervise employees. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately. Ability to develop and implement plans for program/department operations. Ability to adapt resources to meet the needs of the situation. Ability to properly operate all equipment required for this position. Ability to provide patient care if needed. Ability to read maps and find locations in the service area. Ability to work under stressful conditions. Knowledge and skills of the principles and practices of ALS level EMS. Knowledge in Emergency Management. Ability to develop and maintain Emergency Operation Plan (EOP). Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives in methods for providing emergency preparedness services. Implement policies and procedures of emergency management. Develop and implement emergency management training and drills with internal departments and external agencies. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Support the vision and organizational strategies of the medical campus. Translating these into operational goals and tactics, inspiring and aligning the workforce to achieve business goals. Ensure consistency in organization-wide culture, systems, and program implementation. Demonstrate organization-wide involvement and ensure cross-functional cooperation in building partnerships to maximize achievement of medical campus goals. Demonstrate financial responsibility for profit/loss of their department, considering overall financial health of the medical campus. Actively support, communicate, and model the desired corporate culture. Generate alliances with internal and external partners to enable the medical center to supply appropriate products and services to customers. Consistently support and enforce the medical center guiding principles and operating policies. Responsible for creating and fostering strong, effective professional relationships with key customers (i.e., hysicians, community leaders). Is always an ambassador of the medical campus, building relationships with the community and throughout the medical campus's service area (demonstrated by activities such as representation at community events, volunteerism, and community committees). Responsible for performance management which involves assisting your employees in using their skills, ambitions, knowledge, and abilities, while helping to provide appropriate opportunities for professional growth and career advancement (demonstrated through timely and meaningful appraisals, ensuring accountability, and encouraging education etc.). Maintain expertise in area of responsibility and remains current on industry/profession practice and trends. Supervise productivity and efficiency of department employees to meet Medical Center standards. Maintain department in accordance with State, Local, and Federal guidelines. Maintain staff development and training including orientation of new staff. Plan for efficient operation, as well as progressive and innovative implementation of the service. Serve as a primary resource for facility-wide emergency services training. Maintain a cooperative relationship with public safety agencies and their representatives for the purpose of a coordinated public safety mission. Develop, manage, and coordinate emergency preparedness and disaster relief programs. Supervise and monitor the work of assigned staff. Recommend and implement goals and objectives for providing emergency management to senior leadership. Elicit internal and organizations support for emergency management. Work with local, regional, state, and federal emergency agencies. Conduct and manage emergency management drills and training to internal and other outside entities. Manage emergency management programs. Respond to emergencies internal and in the field to coordinate emergency management for CRMC. Write and revise emergency plans. Work independently in emergency management. Active in Central Region Coalition. Implement new rules form CMS, Joint Commission, and FEMA on emergency management. Responsible for communication modes (Radios, cell, HAM, and satellite phones) for the purpose of communicating within and outside entities. Develop relationships with all agencies that would respond to or with CRMC in the event of an emergency. Support and implement the Incident Command System (ICS) for CRMC senior leadership. Coordinate activities related to the prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery to an event, natural disaster, and major emergencies.
