Robert Half Project Accountant in Crofton, Maryland

Description We are seeking a dedicated Sr. Accountant to join our team in Crofton, Maryland. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining our WIP schedules and providing support to various teams. This role is focused on construction accounting and offers a chance to grow within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the WIP schedules for our entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Collaborate with Billings, Accounts Payable, and Payroll teams to verify all job-related costs are accounted for and allocated correctly.

• Provide necessary support to corporate staff, site teams, subcontractors, and vendors, demonstrating initiative and a proactive attitude.

• Prepare account reconciliations meticulously, ensuring all financial data aligns.

• Utilize your knowledge of accounting principles and practices to interpret financial statements.

• Leverage your proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.

• Apply your experience with NetSuite and Field Point or other major construction ERP to streamline operations.

• Utilize your skills in Account Reconciliation, General Ledger, NetSuite, Project Accounting, and WIP - Work In Progress for daily tasks and special projects. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Senior Accountant.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and General Ledger management.

• Experience with NetSuite is essential.

• Must have expertise in Project Accounting.

• Knowledge and experience in WIP - Work In Progress.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, a Master’s degree or CPA would be advantageous.

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.

• Familiarity with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.

• Strong organizational and analytical skills.

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

• Experience with financial reporting and preparing financial statements.
