Salary Range:  $110,000 - $150,000

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, HSE & Operational Sustainability will oversee health, safety, and environmental programs at a manufacturing site, reporting to the Plant Manager, with a dotted line to the Regional HSE Manager. Key responsibilities include achieving safety and sustainability KPIs, developing employee engagement programs, and maintaining a visible presence on the shop floor to ensure compliance and promote safety culture.

Required Education/Experience:

Prior technical education and / or experience in HSE is required for this role. Educational focus in Sustainability is highly desirable. Associate Degree in Health, Safety & Environment at a minimum is required. Bachelor or Master Degree in Health, Safety & Environment preferred. Significant and results demonstrated experience in HSE may be considered in lieu of education. Candidates with degrees in Environmental Engineering also will be considered. Five (5) yearsof experience as a senior leader in HSE with experience in Sustainability within a medium to heavy industrial / manufacturing environment required. Professional designations such as but not limited to Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Occupational Safety and Health Officer (COSHO) highly desired. OSHA 30 Hour training required or be willing to immediately be trained. Technical, multi-media training in US regulatory requirements for environmental through the EPA or other certified entity required or must be willing to be trained. Accredited, university-sponsored certification in Sustainability Strategies (i.e., Stanford Business Exec Education Program) is preferred or must be willing to be trained. Must be trained and willing to serve as a Certified Radiation Office (CRO) for the site, Emergency response protocols.

Job Responsibilities:

Achieves all lagging indicator KPIs for TRR, Environment and Sustainability objective set for the year. Creates innovative leading indicator KPIs that drive the correct behavior and outcomes in the plant. Sets up reward and recognition programs and markets individual employee successes to drive the correct behaviors among the work force. Willingness to work from the shop floor with a variable schedule on day and night shift as required to maximize engagement with all employees. A visible presence on the floor, talking to people across all shifts is required for success. Understands that HSE is a 24 hour commitment and incidents requiring attention of self and team can occur at any time. Must actively participate and collaborate in content development and floor walks targeting supervisor development through formal venues led by the Operations Manager.
