JOB SUMMARY

The Lead Facility Technician performs general, advanced and professional grade maintenance in the areas of construction, dry wall, masonry, roofing, electrical, plumbing, and buildings, grounds and facilities repairs. This position will install or repair HVAC systems, coordinate repairs with other Facility Technicians and vendors, and training and directing Facility Technicians.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to include High Visibility clothing.
  2. Give instructions and directions to Facility Technicians.
  3. Perform general maintenance, as well as buildings, grounds and facilities repairs.
  4. Operate various maintenance equipment, including but not limited to: hand, electrical or air tools, pressure washers and lawn maintenance equipment.
  5. Immediately report safety violations and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
  6. Comply with company safety policies and procedures, including using the lock-out/tag-out system before performing maintenance work.
  7. Perform monthly HVAC, fire alarm, fire extinguisher and plumbing inspections and maintain the required documentation.
  8. Diagnose problems and implement solutions.
  9. Direct the work of other Facility Technicians as assigned by manager.
  10. Assist with stocking, unloading and delivering supplies.
  11. Assist with maintaining property security.
  12. Document repair operations and time-tracking in accordance with company procedures.
  13. Maintain equipment and tools essential to accomplishing daily tasks.
  14. Perform general housekeeping and engineering-related duties.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or its equivalent and at least five years of facility maintenance experience or 8 years of related experience
  • Ability to identify problems and implement solutions
  • Demonstrated familiarity with the principles and techniques of plumbing repair, wood finishing, painting, electrical work and carpentry
  • Working knowledge of the operational characteristics of mechanical equipment and tools
  • Demonstrated experience with HVAC system components, hot water heater installation, air compressor and pump repairs, control systems and conveyors
  • Working knowledge of lawn maintenance and landscaping procedures
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack, lift and forklift
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English

PREFERRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three years of general building maintenance experience
  • Course work or other trades training

REQUIRED LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS

  • Valid Class C drivers license
  • Safe driving for the last three years
  • HVAC-EPA Certification
