Actalent is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to join our team as an individual contributor for the physical substation design engineering team. This is a 12 month contract-to-hire opportunity to join the consulting team supporting IOU's. This opportunity is to work a hybrid schedule out of the office in Cranford, NJ with flexible daily core hours working 7-4, 8-5, or 9-6.

Senior Physical Substation Engineers coordinate the completion of specialized tasks with subject matter expert discipline groups such as Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection (relay coordination and settings), Civil Engineering, Communication (SCADA Integration), Transmission & Distribution Engineering, Environmental Planning, Surveying, Lands/Right-of-Way, and Project Management/Controls.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Participate in development of strong client relationships and serve as a key client manager for selected clients

• Provide technical leadership to ensure projects have appropriate staff and that the quality program is implemented effectively

• Provide conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new, upgraded and expanded substations, including material procurement, construction and commissioning/startup support through energization

• development and delivery of physical, electrical, civil and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications

• Provide autonomous QA/QC responsibility in areas of primary physical substation design competence

Requirements:

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering required

• PE preferred or actively pursuing PE

• 5+ years of Power Delivery Substation design experience required with a focus in physical design

• Knowledge of AutoCAD/Microstation & Microsoft Office
