Westinghouse Electric Company Technical Leader - AP1000 Turbine Island in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania

Your Day-to-Day: Lead and coordinate Turbine Island design integration activities across the AP300 and AP1000 programs. Responsible for leading the design and implementation of Turbine Island design. Facilitate decision-making to accelerate technical progress. Cross-functional integration of multiple functional areas related to Turbine Island design (in both fluid systems and physical design). Takes responsibility for complex, multi-faceted issues and organizes them for team resolution. Lead key technical teams, providing oversight while delegating work and mentoring team members. Interface with stakeholders on technical issues. Identify and define technical issues, risks and challenges, direct efforts to successful resolution. Provide technical guidance, direction, and collaborate with other personnel including partners such as sub-contractors, partners, suppliers, fabricators, and customers. Work highly independently - not only mentor engineers but also effectively lead a team of engineers in the execution of complex tasks. Developing the next generation of engineers to ensure future bench strength. Mentor the team to aid in their technical development, project performance and work satisfaction. Seek to understand what the customer is looking to solve and provide the right solution based on specific needs with the appropriate cost factors. Work with customers to map Westinghouse products and capabilities to customers' needs. Support prioritization of engineering tasks by assessing project objectives, execution time, and implementation costs. Ensure best practices, lessons learned, & improvement are realized in project performance and margins.

Who You Are: As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team: BS in Mechanical Engineering, MS in Engineering is preferred Minimum 15 years applicable experience required. Knowledge and experience in Turbine Island system and physical design is preferred Significant experience in a technical leadership role, with aspects of design, modeling, and analysis and with the ability to manage teams in challenging situations with complex tasks Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Strong teamwork skills Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks This position is based in the Pittsburgh area
