The Manufacturing Engineering and Programs Director is responsible for leading a group which partners with manufacturing sites and the Operational Excellence and Quality Assurance functions to develop excellence in manufacturing execution (throughput, quality, productivity, velocity) and to deliver on manufacturing process development to enable manufacture of new products. This will include management and execution of stage gate processes for manufacturing development, managing process development or optimization programs, as well as interfacing with product design to ensure Design to Value and Design to Manufacture. Also included is the identification of needed CAPEX investment and business case development. 40% travel will be required for this position.

Your Day to Day: Develop and deploy strategies for optimizing and streamlining manufacturing operations in partnership with manufacturing sites and other functional leads. Lead product line optimization through employing digital and automation technologies, streamlining flowpaths, and identifying needed equipment upgrades and new manufacturing capabilities. Develop business case for needed investment or expenditure. Partner with manufacturing sites on standardization and best practice sharing. Partner with GOS Quality and manufacturing sites to increase the capability of manufacturing processes to efficiently produce quality products by preventing defects and eliminating waste. Create and deploy strategies for Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP). Lead new product industrialization efforts. This may include program management of new development efforts (scope, schedule, budget accountability) and facilitation and integration of the efforts of multiple functions across Westinghouse (coordination, risk identification and mitigation, issue resolution, escalation, recovery planning). Provide Global Manufacturing functional lead within the Flawless Launch process and facilitate progression through project phases, ensuring all stage gate criteria are known and achieved. Metrics Accountability - Safety & EHS, Delivery, Quality, Cost, Cost Out, Skills Deployment, Employee Engagement, Corrective Action Completion What you need to be successful in this role: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. Minimum 10 years in operations, engineering, quality, or program management with demonstrated experience in manufacturing process development and optimization. Minimum 2 years of experience in the nuclear or related energy industry. Certified Six-Sigma Black Belt and/or Certified Manufacturing Engineer (SME CMfgE) or PMI certification preferred. Exceptional initiative, leadership by influence, collaboration, communication skills, and ability to have a global influence.
