Power Operations and Maintenance Coordinator, Covington, VA

The opportunity:

  • As the Power Operations and Maintenance Coordinator (OMC), you will impact the Power department by coordinating with the maintenance team for scheduling, volume, budget responsibilities among other areas of responsibility. Coordinate with department leadership to ensure uptime is optimal and downtime is utilized appropriately to minimize operational disruptions.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Maintenance responsibilities for helping achieve production goals - volume, availability, safety, quality, maintenance budget.

  • Responsible for coordinating daily maintenance tasks as well as assisting with outage planning.

  • Participate in capital project planning.

  • Utilize SAP system for work orders, parts ordering, outside services, cost monitoring.

  • Work with planner, maintenance foreman, and other core team members to drive safety.

  • Provide Power with technical expertise to help resolve issues.

  • Utilize XFRACAS system for ECCM and reliability needs for all equipment.

  • Participate in RCA efforts to improve department reliability

  • Participate in team meetings to update crews on current and future equipment status.

  • Will work on regular night and weekend duty call rotation.

  • Interface with crew members to keep them up to date on daily machine maintenance activities.

  • Assist and learn all aspects of Power Operations to help with decisions around maintenance activities.

  • Must be able to deal with a stressful high paced environment and maintain flexibility.

What you need to succeed:

  • 3 to 5 years Power experience

  • Demonstrated experience managing union relationships and labor relations

  • Possess exceptional oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to change in the work environment

  • Demonstrated success in applying fresh, creative thinking and a growth mindset to complex challenges/problems resulting in high impact outcomes

  • Excellent cross-group collaboration, problem solving, and interpersonal skills

  • Competency with Microsoft Office tools, SAP, Ekho, PI, XFRACAS.
