Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Plant Manager in Covington,GA. This position reports to the Operations Manager and oversees the production supervisors and employees responsible for production activities over two (2) shifts. It is this managers responsibility to drive safety, quality, on-time delivery, and production efficiency goals are met. Here's What You'll Get to Do: Direct and manage plant operations with responsibilities for safety, production, quality, continuous improvement, and other production-related activities for operation. Ensure that manufacturing deadlines and budgets are met. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides the vision, leadership, and coaching needed to develop and maintain the competencies, performance, and collaboration of plant supervisors and departmental employees and overall plant management. Drive positive change in all aspects of plant operations using continuous improvement tools and methodologies, teamwork and shop floor metrics, to include quality, cost, delivery, safety and housekeeping Works close with all departments to ensure that operations of the plant support the company goals Coordinates plant profit forecasting and operating statements involving production estimates, raw material cost, labor cost, supplies, machinery maintenance and repair, etc. to keep plant operating at or above our profitability target Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production, quality, safety, staffing, and delivery standards and requirements. Reviews production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of plant. Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements To be considered for a Plant Manager position, the following conditions must be met: 6 years of experience in manufacturing management and leadership of supervisors and production staff Proficient in production planning concepts Possess a working knowledge of Lean concepts, assembly, materials, maintenance, quality programs, repair of buildings and equipment and safety programs Possess a working knowledge of company financials: PandL, managing budgets and expenditures, marginal contributions, etc. Ability to establish, maintain, and develop effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public. Coaching and employee growth mindset is required Must be computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and MRP systems. Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the job Safety Hazards - Exposure to industrial manufacturing environment, Pinch Points, and Noise, Strain/Sprain, Laceration/Puncture, Particulate Exposure, Contusion, Temperature Extremes, Slipping, Burns, Shock, Loss of Limbs Controls - Personal Protective Equipment, Safety Training, Written Procedures Safety Equipment Hard hat, back belt, safety glasses, steel toe shoes/boots, cut resistant gloves, cut resistant outerwear, other equipment as dictated by the specific department. Work Environment Noise levels in the work environment can be moderate to high. The plant facility is subject to the same general climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.). Chemicals, dust, pollen, and other typical airborne particulate matter are present within the atmosphere of the production floor and may create some odors in the plant. The Company, to provide its employees with a safe and healthy working environment, limits exposure to chemicals through written procedures, engineering controls and PPE. While some chemical may pose health risks if not properly used, employees are traine on the proper safety equipment and procedures for handling chemicals. While the chemical exposure and odors are under acceptable levels set by OSHA and the WCB, they nevertheless, can be smelled and are handled according to the companys hazardous communication program.
