Role Summary
We’re looking for an accomplished Electronics Engineer to act in this stand-alone role within our Braking Systems Division here at our state-of-the-art facility in Ansty Park, Coventry. As the right candidate, you will be degree qualified in a relevant discipline, have significant electronics experience within the aerospace, defence, manufacturing or medical industry and will have bags of self-motivation and drive to roll your sleeves up and get the job done with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for the life cycle of a number of platforms in this sustaining role and continuous improvement environment and will act as a lead, providing significant expertise in designing, developing, testing, maintaining, and improving complex components, control systems, and products.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone able to hit the ground running within a global organisation and is able to commit to around 25% international travel visiting supplier sites.
Core Responsibilities
Strong cross functional collaboration with Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing
Responsibility for the life cycle of a number of platforms in a sustaining role and continuous improvement environment
Demonstrating domain knowledge with a high-level of understanding of the design processes and procedures, and the ability to train others
Applying knowledge and experience to develop/enhance designs, processes, and tools
Working under general direction and within established processes / procedures, as well as driving improvements to these processes
Latitude in technical decisions and approaches, but seeks out specialist guidance for complex issues
Advanced oral and written communication skills; creating internal/external presentations of professional quality and preparing clear, technically accurate and documented design explanation
Acting as a subject matter expert, particularly in customer/supplier interaction
Understanding commercially sensitive information, including how, when, and with whom to share it
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Electronic Engineering
Significant experience of Aerospace Electronics, Manufacturing Test and Component Obsolescence
Knowledge of software applications, such as; Altium, Jira, DOORS, Matlab, LABVIEW, LTSpice, pSPICE, MS Office 365
Experienced and proficient at working across functions within an organisation
Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field of electronics
Desirable
PCB design experience
Willingness to challenge the status quo
Experience in working in a multi-cultural / diverse organisaiton
