Description

Position Overview:

The Senior Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for overseeing and optimizing supply chain processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of goods from suppliers to customers. This role involves developing strategies to enhance supply chain performance, managing relationships with suppliers and vendors, and leading initiatives to improve logistics, inventory management, and overall supply chain efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Optimization:

· Develop and implement strategies to streamline supply chain operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency. Analyze supply chain data to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.

· Supplier and Vendor Management:

· Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts and manage performance to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods and services.

· Inventory Management:

· Oversee inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing excess inventory. Develop and manage inventory control processes to balance supply and demand.

Logistics Coordination:

· Coordinate logistics and transportation activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products. Collaborate with logistics providers to resolve any issues and optimize shipping routes and methods.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration:

· Work closely with procurement, production, and sales teams to align supply chain activities with business goals. Facilitate communication and collaboration between departments to support seamless operations.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

· Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply chain operations. Prepare reports and present findings to senior management, highlighting trends, issues, and recommendations.

Risk Management:

· Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Continuous Improvement:

· Lead and participate in projects aimed at improving supply chain processes. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to implement innovative solutions.

Marginal Job Functions:

· Other projects as needed.

Requirements

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) is preferred.

· APICS CPIM Certification a plus

Experience:

· 5-7 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field, with a proven track record of optimizing supply chain operations and managing supplier relationships.

· History of proven Supply Chain experience and success with preference to procurement
